Looks like it checks out, last three of the vin match with the year and bumper#.
It's always a good idea to call Saleen to verify though.

Thanks mikebna! A guy named Jeff at Saleen has my information but hasn't been able to tell me anything because he said their computers have been down for the past week. I imagine that might make it difficult.
Anyway, I'm not sure how much longer I'll be a Saleen owner. She was advertised as being reliable, inspected, serviced and having a clear carfax history. Turns out that was a complete misrepresentation of the vehicle as it's been in two accidents, one resulting in frame/structural damage which explains why the front and rear bumpers aren't aligned properly, though they're secured to the body appropriately. She also had a fit on me a couple of days ago on my way from work. Apparently some hose is not holding a vacuum at all and there's a bad ground coming from the computer causing all sorts of problems. According to the mechanic, the hose issue will need to be fixed immediately otherwise it won't pass emissions. I told them to hold off on the work since I'm talking to the dealership I bought her from about their advertisement stating that it was reliable, inspected, serviced, and having a clean carfax history. Seems like the car's condition is opposite that of the advertisement.

Yes, VA does have some pretty good laws about misrepresenting a car for sale. The dealership seems to be giving me the run around, so I've contacted an attorney. Very frustrating.

Thanks, ya I just noticed it had no sc emblems. It does have a vortech supercharger on it though does anyone know if its any better than the roots? I was also told 850 was the last numer to.

Vortech vs Saleen SC for power is up to the user and what they like. The Vortech would be added after the fact by a prior owner.
The Saleens were numbered up to #915 for the 2001 MY.

Depends. Years and years ago this is how it was explained to me.
Centrifugal supercharges work well in the high RPMs while a positive displacement unit works low.
In terms of Mustangs... Centrifugals and late-model Mustangs were cookies n' cream from the late '80s through the '90s. People knew 'em.
When the 4.6 debuted in 1996 there were some thoughts that the new GT lacked the low end grunt of the old 5-Liters. A positive displacement blower would put this feel back into the vehicle.
I wouldn't say one is better than another, just depends on what you're going to do.

I need some help from you Saleen professionals. We have a '95 Saleen S351 Coupe here and we are told it is a true S351-R code. I just want to verify the validity of this car. 1) That it is a real S351 and 2) That it is a true R-Code.
