Carol Shelby started it, Steve Saleen picked up when Shelby went away for a while, then SVT and Jack Roush joined the party. These "special" or "collectible" Mustangs were offered to the public in quantity making a good car great.

I am shocked at the number of S197 based complete "special" cars now being advertised for sale in quantity. Ronaele, Foose, Cervini's, Steeda, XMP, Boyd Coddington, ITC, Saleen, SVT/Shelby, Roush. Have I missed any?

I am happy all these guys have joined our little party. It should only make my Saleen more valuable. I would love to see a comarison of all these cars by a magazine and see how they stack up on performance, style, pricing etc.

It should also lead to a glut of great parts for our cars over the next few years.
