Default problems filling up my tank

my 05 s281 just turned over 1k.... i live in Oregon where you cant pump your own gas, so about half of the time when i get it filled up it keeps clicking off every few dollars like its full. Anyone else have this problem. I asked Ford and someone told me its possible it could be the pumps, which makes some sense, since it does it at some and not others... i think. They said it probly isnt the car itself because it clicks off almost immediatly after filling up not half way through when the gas might travel to the other tank on the pass. side.

Where in Oregon do you live? I lived in grants pass for about a year. And let me tell you, not being able to pump my own gas feels like a violation of my rights! That coupled with the meth heads everywhere, I'm glad to be gone (No offense!). But I did love the beautiful scenery, especially at the Rogue river =)

EDIT: Oh, and about your question, uhm, i dono?

This is a problem on ealry '05 Mustangs in general - quite a pain in the a$$ indeed. Do a search in the 2005 Mustang section and you will find TONS of threads on this topic - plus in the TSB area for 2005's. It is bad saddle tanks, and the resolve is to take it in and have the rear end removed, and saddle tanks replaced. I opted to leave mine be - at about 1300 miles a year, I don't mine a slow fill up every other month or so

Yep there is a TSB. Also, if you dread taking your car into the dealership, you can try turning the pump handle upside down, etc.
