1988 saleen
Hello I'm new here;
Theres a 1988 saleen here in south texas that needs work ie paint interior,
its been sitting for 3 years the guy wants $6500 for it.
He stated it started right up when a battery was placed in it.
Also it has 138000 miles.
Anybody think its worth this? [sm=icon_guiness.gif]
Thanks

You don't mention, but I'm assuing its a hatch car - not a coupe/notch or convertable. Regardless, if this car needs major work such as a repaint or interior restoration then $6500 is too high. According to Nada, $6500 is the going price for an AVERAGE condition car, and resto work such as paint and interior is far from average IMO. Read the descriptions on the NADA page below for the 3 conditions. Sounds to me like this car falls below even a LOW RETAIL VALUE condition car [&:]

RE: 1988 saleen
Im going to agree with the man above me. I got my 89 with 91K miles runs great but needs interior work for $3200. $6500 is a lot of money for something that needs serious $$$$ to get it back to snuff.
