Default "Roush"ing a Mustang

Hey y'all,

I plan on purchasing a GT and adding the Roush modifications to it myself. There are a few things I'm not sure on, though. What's the major difference between the Roush 1 and Roush 2 kits? Aside from the cold air intake on the Roush 2 I can't tell that there's a difference. And is adding the kit to a GT the best way to go, or are there some other options I could look into? Also, is the best place to get the kit from the Roush site, or is it better/cheaper to get it somewhere else or to buy the parts seperately?

I think most of the differences between the Stage 1 and Stage 2 are suspension and brake upgrades.

Roush is not a very popular car. If you don't mind me asking why don't you go with steeda or saleen. Not that I do not like Roush but it is not a popular choice. I'm sure that it will look and perform good if you do it right though.

I am assuming "not popular" means rare and not a poor choice, so here are my reasons.
One of the main factors / benefits of having a Roush. Everybody knows and has seen a Saleen, it was even plastered all over the movies. Steeda is also more commonly known. Roushes are very rare. My model was only made in 02' and only 141 were produced. Every time I go to a show or just cruising, NObody knows what it is. They ask, is it the new 05'?, is it a Saleen or something? The performance is phenominal as are the looks. Jack Roush is an icon in Ford racing and is practically dominating NASCAR w/ serious cup contenders every year. I feel like I have something more, over the others, by owning a Roush.

You will find out all you need about the Roush cars between FNSWEET and the Roush Performance Home Page. As for me, here are a few pics of my 2001 Stage 2.

Hey, thanks for the input y'all. I signed up on fnsweet not too long ago and got some great advice on there. I ended up getting a "real" one instead of trying to put one together myself - 2001 Roush Stage 2 vert, silver/black interior.

Awesome cars guys!

This way is much more practical than trying to put one together. It saves a ton of time and a few $$$$ as well.
