A 400 horsepower naturally aspirated motor is tough to beat.

Hi Chuck ~ Glad to hear your getting the PJ out for some fresh air and by the sounds of it some rather sweet exhaust notes !!! Nothing like the sound of a 60s/70s Trans-Am Championship Race Car, eh. I think you should have a little more thatn 200 miles on it by now unless your under a foot of snow like we are ? Get that Pony out there and ride her. More Pics. Wheel / tire close-up. Engine. Trunk. Exhaust. Anything. Don't mess with it, keep it original. Enjoy, Enjoy !!!

Thanks Kenardo,

You're right about the snow. We are in the middle of a blizzard in Tulsa. 15 degrees and ice everywhere! When it gets nicer I'll post some more pictures. I haven't driven it since last weekend! For now, the pony is in the stable.

Keep us updated on your progress, and I'll get more pictures up soon!

Cheers,

Chuck

Saleen's designers deserve a prize of some sort for 25 year of beautiful cars. I just checked out the link to the Ron Ward site and that car looks GREAT! I dont really care for Grabber Orange, but that car looks AWSOME. Can anyone name an ugly Saleen? NO!, that's why we are a bunch of drooling fools that deal with slight imperfections (extra long side skirts, pink tail lights, and falling steering wheel badges) and could care less.... Power In the hands of a few....

Congrats on the new PJ 302 Doc............looks awesome......just awesome. I kinda felt this way before.....and now seeing it with more detail I have to say: this is the best looking S197 mustang variant produced yet.........bar NONE. And hearing a bit about the performance, well..........I can only wish for this car.

Very nice. Enjoy that car Doc........for me.

Congrats on the purchase and enjoy in good health. Why don't you back her outa the stable when you get a bright day. It would be the first ever "PJ in the Snow" pic!

Two more questions:

1. Are the rear louvres metal or molded plastic? I had some of these on my Celica back in the 70s and the ones that were available them were metal.

2. I notice in the engine pics on another site that the stock air intake and box appear under the hood. Is the hood scoop functional? Does it have a vacuum-actuated flap or something?
