I agree, it depends on what you are looking for, I like the 04's five spoke much better then the 05-07's.
+1.

For 20+ years of Saleen designs, I have been almost 100% on board with Saleen's final product. But I cannot get myself on board with these new 5-spoke wheels. Too much open space vs. wheel mass, IMO.

I will say that I wish the 7-spoke design was a "deep dish" design, rather than just an "outer rim" type of design.

Couldn't agree more. Every s197 I've seen with a deep dish wheel design has looked good. Well, not every one of them, but close enough.

The wheel options on the current model are seriously lacking. Another option for the poll should have been "Neither".

I LOVE 5 spoke wheels, but would have to say those are an exception to my rule. The flush nature of the spokes against the outside of the wheel is the issue for me.

If they would recess the spoke a little bit and maybe make the spokes a little bit bigger....i'd be on board. the 7 spoke just fill the gaps really well. Isn't the 5 spoke an upgrade that costs extra?

Im a big fan of my 7 spokes and love the look. They fit car and don't look like20's. I just wish they could go on a diet and loose about 15 lbs. If you are like most of us, then weight really doesnt mean much. I dont drag race or autocross, so weight doesnt really matter (unless you get into an impromptu street race).

It is very interesting to see most of you prefer the 7 spoke. I am right in the middle of deciding which ones to go with. I can say there is a nice difference in weight!! Like Polk said....Less rotating mass = good. Just 5lbs on each corner, makes a Big difference!

Tell Saleen to save your money on the wheels and install some custom deep dish forged 5 spokes.

Each there own. The first thing I changed on my extreme was the wheels. I went with a 5 spoke but they do have a dish on them. When the spokes are thicker and recessed it makes a big difference.
