Default Buying a Saleen

I got what I hope to be a good deal on a '96 Saleen 281 with a supercharger. My question is, did these come with a supercharger stock back then, or was this an owner bolt on??? </P>

Also, what upkeep am I looking at with this supercharger, and what do I listen/look for when test driving this car?? It is a little on the high miles side (100K), but the car is in excellent shape otherwise.</P>

I know turbo's pretty well, but not s/c's. Thanks.</P><edited><editID>boxer156</editID><editDate>37853.5294328704</editDate></edited>

Actually, I just looked at some pics, and it does say supercharged, so it was factory installed. Now, what do I need to look for, or listen to, during the test drive??? </P>

And is the higher miles a cause for concern???</P>

Take it to the strip and abuse the s**t out of it.

Then drive it normally (what's that?), see if anything concerns you

AND TAKE IT TO AN INDEPENDANT MECHANIC OF YOUR CHOICE
