The motors are not serialized in the S-351's. You will never be able to tell if it is the original block or not. Very few of the early S-351's have the original motor. The 2 point roll bar was called the 2 point chassis brace and was optional. The car on ebay was a decent buy at 18K with the ad on's if they were done right. Most people don't know what to look for. With the car being a lightly optioned car it won't bring much. If it were a true R-code it would be a 23K car with the mileage. As it sits 18K would be a fair deal if you wanted one to drive occassionally. My 96 isn't a street friendly car but, I won't go into that. The other two S-351's (99 and 2000) are very streetable. The one 99 puts 540 rwhp with a stock motor and stock blower!

.......and whatmakes YOU such an authority onstangs!
the 351Rs are junk. i went to go test drive one that i was considering and the car ran real iffy. it didnt drive right. part throttle the car was an absolute dog, full throttle the thing would bog at different rpms . of course it was a 1994 i dont know if they have made improvements since then. Ill just stay with my SA-15
....I think there are plenty of people here that would disagree with you on that remark. A properly tuned s351r will run circles around the majority of cars on the road....end of story. The one you test drove may not have been running correctly and your entitled to your own opinion but you can't judge the entire run of S351's on one test drive. Make a trip to GA and ride in Scott's 96 or come down to SoCal and I'll take you for a spin in my 97 or have Ronnie take you in is 99 and I willguarantee it will make you look differently at these beasts....

If God brings you to it, he will bring you through it.
Any car with a poor tune is going to seem like a dog. The 94-95 cars stock didn't come with a tune at all. Saleen just hoped and prayed they wouldn't break. I have yet to ride in anything off the showroom floor that will come close to the 96 I have. It is all stock components that have been tuned properly. It does have an electronics upgrade and the 97-up fuel modification that Saleen was supposed to do to the car but never did. My 99 which is actually a little slower put 540 to the wheels about three months ago just after I bought it. It is bone stock except for a power pipe. I have had alot of cars to compare to. I have owned Boss Mustangs, a Shelby, and several Big Block cars over the years. The only car that i would say that compared to these was a Original 427SC Cobra I took a ride in when I was a teenager. It was not the street version either! I would sell everything to get that car!
