Default 2000 miles and tire squeak - wtf

My left rear tire makes a metallic squeak as I drive now. It just started yesterday and its bad.
Could it be the brakes? Its sounds like im driving Maynard from the Cars movie. Im afraid to drive
it. I dont think its suspension because its no louder on flat roads vs bumps. The scratchy sound picks up
as speed increases? Any ideas?

If the noise increases as you speed up, it is a rotating mass issue. This would mean brake disc most likely. Take a close look at disc and around back side of wheel and look for contact locations that have scratches. Does the sound stop or change when you apply brakes? Try to stop using "E" brake as well and see if that changes as most foot pedal braking is front wheels.

You could very well have a rock between your rotor and brake pad...like the man said, check your rotor for damage.

Could also be rocks stuck in the tread of the tire.

It's a bent tab on your rear brake. I had the same on my car the day I picked it up.
Simple fix, remove the wheel and see where it's rubbbing and adjust back. Or any Forddealer will fix it since it's a stock mustang item under warranty.
