I've emailed the seller... His reply was "Thanks for the insight". Bet he doesn't change the auction.
He's also missing the firewall and shifter plates...

There were 2 Silver 01 Saleen Cobra 'verts - numbers 526 & 565.
Anybody got their book handy to see what "309" matches up to?

Nice car but it aggravates me that he is trying to pass it off as a Saleen. The bumper numbers don't look to be in the right angle on the bumper and of course as was already pointed out no plaque near the shifter and the tag under the hood is missing. Its a nice car and it should sell but why not advertise it as a MUSTANG COBRA with a Saleen style package added. Dont try and pass it off as a legitimate Saleen. I wonder what the book is on a 01 Cobra Vert? Becausethat is what this car is worth. I hope no one buys itthinking they are getting a true Saleen as that only hurts all of us.

haha....that's ridiculous. Numbers are too large, no badging in the inside, AND that emblem on the side of the car wasn't even available until midway through 2002.

If he was trying to pass it off as real...he should have at least left the cobra emblem on the side....

Too many uninformed folks think that Saleen's are all body panels and numbers I guess. Besides, when did SVT make a Cobra-Saleen ?

Pretty sad attempt. The numbers are way wacky, the door jamb does not show a Saleen Mfr decal by the Forddecal, but he shows a fake tire pressure Saleen sticker on the passenger side door [&:] May be worth the price, but only if it is even a real SVT [&:][&:]

I wouldn't buy from anybody that is not telling the whole truth or has no clue what they are talking about. Heck if he is willing to hide the fact that its not a real Saleen, then I'd question if it even started life as an SVT.

Yes, Saleen did convert 128 Cobras into Saleen Cobras from 1996 to 2004. The car in this Ebay ad is NOT one of them...
98-154 in the Autotrader ad DOES "check out".
