RE: 2005 #01 Saleen s281 (prototype) for sale
I am curious, gsxr..... since this is a prototype, were there any changes/modifications to the retail versions of the 05+ models AFTER this was made? Would be pretty cool to own a "one-off" Saleen

That makes sense, but was wondering if any of the proto-type parts used on THIS car were changed for some reasonwhen theSaleens went retail. So maybe facia is was modified or colors changed on guages or something making this a unique car?

Says it sold for 37k!! Interesting that the prototype in 2005 had 435hp but the production cars (that weren't available until mid July) had 400 [&:] And the glass top wasn't an option until 2006 [&:]

RE: 2005 #01 Saleen s281 (prototype) for sale
I just watched it. The car did not have Saleen in the rear bumper and the mustang pony on the side with the S281 logo. Itappeared to bean n/a car with no supercharger!!! Certainly not a Saleen supercharger as the part of the motor I saw was the stock intake. The wheels were not chrome and I could not tell if they were the upgraded rim size. It did sell for $37,000 with all money going to charity.
