Did your tuner raise up your rev limiter?

Did you shorten the gap? If not, you could be getting spark blowout at your psi level.

The timing is set at 16*. I don't know what the spark plug gap is. As I never
did the installation. I'm going to check that today.JDM say's it should be @ 26 though.

Do you know what your spark timing is set to? Mine is around 15-16 maxing out at around 20.

If it is pinging at all then the tune needs to be adjusted! Its pretty simple that way!

ORIGINAL: 00 425 SALEEN

I just bought a 2000 Saleen SC in excellent shape and low miles. But after reading a few post here it seems like I wont get much HP if I do a few mods because of the Series I/II supercharger. I was thinking of doing the following:

-1 5/8 bbk ceramic shorty headers
-Mac pro-chamber off-road h-pipe
-3:55 or 3:73 gears (undesided until I get an idea of what the revs are @ 70-75 mph in 5th gear)
-chicane pulley and intercooler
-CAI (dont know which one to go with or if theres a kit that comes with a MAF)
-80 or 90 MAF
-Acufab 75mm TB
-39# injectors and fuel pump
-MGW shifter
-Tune (JDM seems to be the popular choice)

*Side note*
I get some pinging at WOT, any ideas?

Thanks,

Marco
Jared's right that you won't hit the huge numbers with the Series II S/C, but it's not exactly a paperweight. I'm pushing 341rwhp at the moment with the mods in my signature.

My guess is that you'd probably top out somewherenear 400 rwhp....but that's where you should stop anyway unless you want to forge the internals.

Some future mods I'm working toward:

Chicane Intercooler
42lb injectors
Chicane RIPP kit
90mm MAF
75mm Throttle Body

Just curious, was your tech using a Dynometer or a Mustang Dyno [&:] Based on everything I read on here and in the mags, the Dynometers provide much more favorable numbers compared to the Mustang Dyno.

Well based on what I read in the magazines and in here, 294hp on a Mustang Dyno would most likely yield more favorable numbers on a Dynometer....considerably more favorable. I think you have good power based on that, you should be more worried about the pinging at WOT.
