Default a little late to the game

I finally had some time to research why I couldn't fill my gas tank very fast, or past half full.

It seems as though quite a few 05 to 06 mustangs have had this prob just like me. and I have been dealing with it for a couple of years now because I am still afraid to take my Saleen to the local dealership for any kind of service.

Most of the info that I could gather from this and other forums about the 05 and 06 mustangs was that even going through changing out the gas tank which was Ford's fix for this problem sometimes never cured it.

So I went out yesterday for a nice long cruise to clear my head and get some windsheild time in my saleen and pulled into my favorite gas station and filled it up with no problem past full!

This was acomplished by holding the pump handle upside down at the 11oclock position that others had tried, boy was I happy. Had to be careful and watch as it bypasses the autoshutoff mode of the pump though and will overfill....oops. I have never filled it this fast.

I used to have to do that same thing in my old work truck. I the pump I always used was slanted so I had to get fancy during a fill-up.

Owners over here in England have the same problem, it has just been a case of trying different gas stations as ones with older pumps pump the gas slower, also it depends on how much gas you have in the tank and what the temperature is.
