... when they're selling at all. Just take a look at the GT500KRs on eBay - there are a ton of them, and they just aren't selling. I would say that in this market, anyone looking for a recent top-end Mustang is either going to buy a new one from a dealer (at a huge discount), or will look to get an absolute bargain basement price on a used one.
I got one heck of a deal on my '08 S302E (compared to MSRP). But I have no illusions, if I had to sell it today, I would still take a big loss. Plus the custom paint adds a huge chunk to the MSRP, but I doubt it adds all that much to the resale price.
Anyway, I plan to keep mine for 40 years, hopefully the prices will have stabilized by then!
Chris.
care to share how much you paid for it? we are all friends here
I was at the ford dealer today. they had a gt500 and it was $56,000....geez. still 10k over sticker. no thanks

SALEEN EXTREME ------- my mustang
mods : strippers in the car for added weight/attention + while listening to red man full vol.
I just look at the bright side. I have owned my car since new in Sept 2005, enjoyed driving it for 3 yrs and now it's worth 1/2 what I paid for it. I had a stock portfolio full of great mutual funds and stocks and in 3 months it's worth 1/2 (ok 40% less, Im Exaggerating)... and you can't drive around in a stock with the top down!!!!
all car values are getting their ass's kicked
a 2005 ferrari f430 with 8k miles sold for $130,000 MSRP on that thing is 275k. values are strong on ferraris and they are tanking
cars such as the m5, SL benz, maseratis, big audi's are sinking just as fast.
most cars do a have bottom though.
I would for say for an 06-07 extreme the current bottom is mid to high 30s. sad but true.
EXACTLY. Percentage-wise, used Saleens aren't tanking in price any worse than 911s, AMGs, Audis, etc.
Even GT500s are dropping in prices. I've seen several selling for under MSRP...
Btw, I had no idea an f430 just sold for so cheap. Someone got an amazing deal...

I need to get rid of my saleen though!
Isn't there a thread about a nice 3v yellow convertible somewhere on the Saleen section?
I know you wanted to switch to that color and body style above all else.
As a tuner shop estimator in my opinion, you could easily pop in a full SMS kit and push 800 hp for $43,000 out the door, it's an auto but it's so cheap that it won't matter in the end. Probably you could even get 830 hp similar to Steve Saleen's car. Seeing as your car is an E in a nice color the upgrade would cost $6,300 based on current Saleen values, before you sell the removed parts (transmission rotating assembly, saleen intake, heads cams etc). I'd do this plan.

Tip of the Month, October: Do not buy the $730 Roush Exhaust which a Mangnaflow rep says costs to $117 make (polished, all ss), buy the $170 Roush Exhaust Tips estimated to cost $46 to make and weld them to another company's muffler. This also lets you choose how your car sounds.

Yeah, looks like I will be hanging on to it for a while. I'd rather keep it than give it away. On a good note, at least mortgage rates are dropping...lol..I was also thinking about a possible trade, but I have no idea whewre to look for that. My wife is the whole reason I am even thinking about getting rid of it as some of you may already know. She wants a 7series BMW. I have to look out for one willing to trade I guess.

Legion5 or anyone else who knows Saleen value, please give me your opinion on this eBay listing... seems like a LOT for the money, so what am I missing?
Looks like a heavily modded 3v (no SC originally). Looks like a ton of mods though. Not sure if I would consider that high with all the mods. Possibly slightly, but I am sure it can be had for a bit less also. Just a quick search on ebay, and I cannot find a standard 3v for less than 26k and up. I actually think the listing is fair.
