After seeing the gains that the cams produce it would make me a little nervous to push the engine anymore. but who knows. maybe it can handle cams with a solid tune. But I think I am going to build the motor before I do cams.

Oh and about the OP, is it necessary to lift the engine to install the headers? I dont have my engine lift with me. I could buy another one but Im wondering if it will be worth it.
Yeah I think it depends on the tune. My buddy has an 07 GT with a vortech S/C and he got his tunned from JPC on the east coast, (same place as me) and hes putting out like 525 hp to the wheels. He got the Predator chip...Do you have any exhaust clips or any videos of your car?

My car is not supercharged so you may or may not be able to get an email tune for cams on a supercharged car. A dyno is the best option as far as tuning. I plan on getting one this spring. Here's the instructions I used for the cam install... http://iihs.net/fsm/?dir=165&viewfil...t%20-%20LH.pdf

Yeah the dyno is definately the best bet...I just don't know if I trust anyone around Sacramento to touch my car...Thanks for the Info...

David, give me a call and I can walk you through exhaust setups...I have had four different setups on my car already and I can give you the pros and cons of each. Do not put an x pipe on a 3v UNLESS you love the raspy sound...also, DO NOT get rid of the stock magnaflow saleen pipes...

^+1. The x-pipe on our cars do produce a raspy sound. As for the magnaflow pipes you'll have to dump them once you get into some high horsepower. Not sure what your future plans are.

Whats the difference between stainless steel and having it ceramic coated? I thought the stainless steel shouldnt rust so why would you need to have it ceramic coated? I am thinking of either going JBA or MAC LTs and O/R H. Anyone have a preference over mac or JBA? JBA is a little more expensive but they are stainless steel.

Oh and can you put in poly motor mounts by just jacking up the engine with a jack under the oil pan?

The ceramic coating keeps down on underhood temps some and also will not discolor. Stainless steel will discolor like the stock h-pipe. If you get the Macs go with ceramic because they don't come in stainless. I'm sure you'd be pleased either way, both are good quality. Yes all you have to do is raise the motor 1/4" each side to change the motor mounts.

The macs are not a good fit, but they sound good, have a good finish, and have good gains

I've only seen a few companies that offer an O/R H. I don't like raspy sounding exhuast, and have always opted for LTs and the H. It just seems like there are not a lot of H manufacturers for the S197.

If anyone has done the JBA LTs, how was the fitment?

So what header set up would you reccommend if I wanted to stay N/A ?

What about shorty headers or are they a waste of money?

Default questions?

Yeah, what about shorty headers especially if you're in CA? We can't touch the LT's if you want to pass smog some day! I've heard good things about the JBA shorties w/ decent gains.
