Extended warranties are simply a waste of time. They will do everything in their power to deny a claim using the fine print.

I've had extended warranties on both car and home. Both were worthless when I tried to put in a claim. They try and tell you everything is covered (even the salesman stressed EVERYTHING) but when you read fine print....most stuff isn't.

I had a latch on my vw jetta that broke on the center armrest. The latch on the glove compartment was covered if it would have broken...but not the center armrest because it was considered a wear and tear item. Both do the exact same thing (open a compartment). Figure that one out.

Stay away from extended warranties!!!

I don't know what to do, because these guys are just brokers, Ford has the ultimate say what car is covered, since they are the underwriter.

I wish some other guys would call and ask, so we could all compare notes.
I tried to buy one when I bought my Saleen last June/July. I worked at the dealership and when I walked through the book with everything we had available it specifically said "NO SALEEN."

I've got a 12 month/12k mile on the power train right now, but once that's gone it's all on me.

Yeah, thats kinda what I figured.

Wear and tear items are next to impossible to get covered, while I have heard people say specific items they had no problem getting covered.

Unfortunately I'm finding out if it has SALEEN, ROUSH, or COBRA on it...no warranty company will take it.

The extreme car might be treated differently than a normal SC car.
