Saleen 10th Aniversary Dash Plaque?
I'm thinking of making a custom dash plaque for my Saleen car which reads
The purpose of this is that id just to have a meaningfull dash plaque on my car.
Would this be completly stupid or look cool?
Couple problems with this:
Nobody knows when the first supercharged modular engine based Saleen was made.
If anyone has something better Id' love to hear it.
"10th
Aniversary Saleen Modular Engined Coupe
1996-2006 Saleen Established 1988"

Interesting idea. One question, what does the 1988 signify?
Unofficially or officially the SA-15 was the first modular Saleen with a charger. Depends on on opinions of the SPP backdoor effort. In 1999 the S/C was first offered as the R-Code option for the S281.
For the most part... before 1998... those Vortech huffed 4.6s were dealer/owner conversions.
Not to sound like a smart-butt, is the 2006 dash serialization plate not meaningful?
You could probably copy the "coin" idea from the Sterling and have something mid-dash... or maybe something, like a mid-mounted plate, inspired by the Shelby GT series. Or go "old-school" and produce a modern interpretation of the vintage Saleen console/shifter mounted plate.
Or... you can be like Ned S. and his "SL-01" car. Just do something that will leave people scratching their noggin.

I haven't had time to log on much these days, but I thought I would check things out and this post left me with a major WTF
Anniversarys are for the most part about a body style or code....Fox, SN95, SN-New Edge and S197. Even if they did an annivesary for Push-rod vs Modulars.....your engine is a new design 3v not comparable to the 2v that came out in 1996. The first available mod with an SC was the SA-15 so for counting sake it was 1997. Also, what is 1988....Saleen was established in 1984.
You have a several things meaningful on your dash already....the S logo on the wheel, the SALEEN guagues, and the Saleen Production Dash Plaque above the glovebox.....so I answer your question with: Yes, I think this is a totally stupid

You do know the last time Saleen "corporate" fielded a track car was 2000, right?
"Customer cars" are still driven today.
