I think this is a noble effort by Mr. Saleen to redeem the damaged brand. Having purchased two new Saleen Mustangs in the last 4 years I will not consider an SMS product the next go round but it's nice to see some effort to assist the customers left out in the wind.

I traded my 05 for the purchase my 08 in March 09 and this doesn't help me or any of the other customers that will purchase the cars that remain in dealer inventory... which, judging by the inventory at Frontier Ford in Anacortes Washington, is alot. Really disappointing that none of the parties involved in this are willing to warranty the new cars sitting on dealers lots...

Classy/smart PR move. My car is out of warranty as well. Preserving his good name is obviously important to him. I will buy SMS parts if they produce something I want.

Don't be fooled, I'm starting to think this was more for publicty than about helping any loyal Saleen customers. I submitted a warranty form last week and haven't heard anything about it. In the mean time my car has another problem and the dealership tried to contact sms with no response what so ever.....

Had a funny feeling this was going to happen. On the other hand, SMS may be swamped with warranty claims from the dealers that have been sitting for months while this whole mess has been going on...

I hope it is the latter, because I would seriously consider buying one of Steve's new cars if this all worked out.
