I think the main reason why this isn't in my garage yet is because I just bought this last saleen a year ago. It has only been one year and my dumba$$ is already wanting something more power-capable. I am in college right now and have the funds, just don't know if this is something I should be doing. I am going tomorrow to talk to Jim down there at the dealership so we shall see how it goes. I am assuming I will have to pay 6k in finance difference. So yeah

So tomorrow I am going to get my car evaluated by a dealership in Half Moon (the Mystichrome) and now one in El Cerrito (Silver 03)

And the silver one's link:

I am torn because although the Mystic would be awesome to have, the price is quite high and I don't think I will get much over 20k for mine.

Now the silver one I may be able to trade pretty easily.

With that said... still a YAY situation? haha
I like the silver one as well. I like Termis in general though

30K for an 04 Cobra??

I just bought an 04 with 34K miles on it, tons of extras included with it..for 17K

No, its not Mystic color, but the color isn't going to add 13K to the price.

Thats was a good deal. Cobra's on ebay, from what you described, don't sell that low.

someone donated that one off...

pretty dumb of them if you ask me. I know the economy is bad, but they could have easily gotten plenty more with proper advertising.

I don't believe so.

I found several low-mid mile 03 and 04 Cobras for less than 20K. I have watched Cobra owners asking 28-30K for their cars for over a year now...and they STILL have them.

The fact is its a 6 year old car- most have no warranty left, or right at the end of the factory warranty and 9/10 have been pullied or modded. If you can find one that hasn't been run to death (I found 1 or 2 in my search), then many of those suffer from build quality issues. Most of the documented stuff is poor 1/4 panel fitment issues, the 32 valve motors burning oil, and paint quality complaints.
The motor is the big selling point, the 6 speed tranny, IRS, along with the low numbers they made.

Yeah, they didn't build a lot of them, but then again..its not anything special when you can go buy a used 07 Shelby for right at what some Cobra owners are asking for their 04's.

If I was going to spend 24K+ on a performance Mustang..it wouldn't be an 04 Cobra.
17K? Yeah..its worth it, because the positives outweigh the negatives. Above 17K for a mid-mile Cobra is a toss up.

Just my opinion.

Very good points. And honestly I was just interested in trading in for an 03/04 cobra because of the engine, the power output and strength. I feel with my Saleen that I already know I can not do much more than 400-425hp to the stock internals so I really just want to swap in an engine that is equivalent to the cobras. I just want to KNOW I can do as much as I want and still net gain like a cobra does. I feel restricted. Someone help me!!! Haha

Thanks a lot for the input. It definitely helps
