I see lots of mods listed for the stock Eaton supercharged Saleens, but I have not seen one with ported heads. Why is that? I would think ported heads with the Chicane pulley would gain some HP. I realise ported heads would probably drop boost pressure slightly, but I would think the smaller pulley would make up for that. Anyone tried it?

I ported my heads with great results. Not sure why everyone doesn't have that on there to-do list. I guess price is a factor. Depending on the amount of porting its pricey.

S281 E, you are running a S281E 3v, so it does make a lot of sense for you. You have a lot more overhead with your blower than the Eaton on my car. I was just wondering if anyone with an Eaton tried it and what the results were.
The way I understand it, you can only use around a 66mm pulley on the Eaton and that is kind of pushing it. So, in theory, porting the heads will cause some decrease in boost and I am wondering if the loss is significant enough to not be worth the effort.
Eventually I would like to build a stout short-block and run either ported heads or those new Trick Flow heads with a better positive displacement supercharger. For now, I am looking to port the PI heads, run the Chicane 66 mm pulley with intercooler, a 75 mm TB, a 90 mm MAS, larger injectors, a better fuel pump and a tune. It seems to be what everyone else is doing, except no one appears to have ported their heads. I am wondering why that may be?
I apologize...I so quickly assume everyone is running a 05-10 mustang since that is what I have. The fact that you have 2v heads does hurt, but I have heard of 2v heads flowing really good numbers. I guess the best question to ask is what your end goal is? How much power are you looking to put down?

It would be nice to hit that magic 400 rwhp figure with the stock bottom end and blower... for now. This is set more by budget than anything else and it seems to be the most I should try to push out of the stock bottom end.
Reading this forum, I have seen some numbers that are damn close to the 400 rwhp number, but none that I have seen have actually hit it. It would just seem porting the heads should help hit that number.
The 05-10 Saleens are awesome and I would love to have a 302E with a shaker, but I love the looks of my new edge and its paid for.

Hollywood03 is at 405rwhp. I'm at 390 with an ultra conservative tune on a series II blower. If I add a little timing I'm at 400....but it's still stock saleen timing (and I did my dyno run with no cooldown after a 40 minute drive to the dyno).
If you want to see a dyno sheet that says "400" on it, send me a check and I'll go add a degree of timing to my tune and print you one!

LOL... I haven't seen Hollywood03's spec's as yet. I have followed your build as well and I think that is awesome you are making the power you are on a "safe" tune. I myself will run a "safe" or conservative tune as I like to drive my car often. Now I'll have to go peek at Hoolywood03's specs. Txs.
It turns out that after I did all my mods (or during.....not sure) it looks like my boost actuator went bad. So I'm wondering if my torque and HP numbers were lower than what they should have been at lower RPM's. I wondered why I added over 60rwhp and don't peel out when I step on it now! The boost actuator gradually closes instead of shutting immediately causing a more gradual ramp up in boost. I'm getting it replaced next week.
PS-JDM had a guy with a series II that dynoed at 400rwhp. Don't know his name, though.

400rwhp is attainable without porting the heads. If your on a budget I would start with a CAI, tune, smaller blower pulley, underdrive pullies, smaller crankshaft pulley, LT headers, midpipe, and see where that will put you. If your not at 400RWHP I would think your damn close. Than you could decide on porting the heads or not.
