Brenspeed is playing with one. They claim they are up to 600hp on stock internals. They have videos on their site.

Neat looking car. Looks like Brenspeed's R&D car though... with a few 435 S exterior visuals added.

725hp may seem like more but hundreds of pounds of more weight does wonders for both ruing the handling and acceleration.
Advantage SMS.

Actually the SMS 655 hp will accelerate faster in every situation compared to the GT500KR if I run the numbers through a weight vs acceleration calculator.

Weight reduction is free. In fact, if you sell the stuff you pull out, you make money.

I haven't heard specs on a '10 KR - I didn't think Ford would do one, and if they do, it will make a lot of people very unhappy (i.e. the current KR owners). I suspect the previous poster was talking about a 2010 Super Snake. Everything I read (although the SS owners would vehemntly deny it) was that the KR handled and performed much better than the SS, despite having way less HP (possibly partly due to weight reductions).
What weight specs were you using Legion? I wonder how Saleen is planning on reducing weight? I know one of the big complaints about the GT500 platform was the weight of the iron-block 5.4, but seeing as we are comparing cars that are not released yet, we may as well continue with wild speculations, such as coyote, aluminium block 4.6, etc...

Yes, the price I posted is for the '10 SS, not KR, as per Shelby's website. The SMS has no back seat, the SS does. Pull the seat out, pull the Shaker 1000 box, spare tire, sound deadening under the carpet, etc...

Up to a point - but there's only so much you can just pull out of a car (unless you are building a track-machine). Then you have to start saving weight on things you still need, and that gets real expensive real quick (e.g. lots of carbon fiber...)

Check out a picture of the 2010 super snake if anyone hasn't:

I don't know about the SMS 460 not having a rear seat - I think that's not accurate.
Here's the deal between the first gen GT500KR and the GT500SS. My shop has built three Super Snakes so far and I've played around with one with permission of it's owner. Ford claims the GT500KR handles better than the Super Snake, yet that's simply not true, the Super Snake has adjustable suspension and an awesome set at that. The SS's stock setup isn't reaching it's potential. Without even doing any tuning work I called up Shelby and asked them for their most aggressive setting and recorded .94g on a parking lot skid pad. The KR has a skid pad of .92g. So yeah sure stock for stock the KR may handle better and be claimed as the better performer, but the SS is engineered better (supercharger, adjustable coilovers) and if you don't mind a harsher ride when you want it to handle, it's better.
