If it still has the Saleen gauges in it, i'd say their probably busted. Those gauges sucked.

I was under the impression the SS 2002 E demo convertible was used as payment to a creditor of the era. Gave a car instead of money.

If not... I was under the impression the 02-0001 E convertible lives in AZ with a seat swap. The charcoal Recaros were displaced by 2003 Saleen Seating before trade.

Could be wrong.

Jim,
It's the same car. Bought it from Brian last November. Came upon this site while looking for help with the gauges.

I'm pretty sure the Extreme that Black's was selling is not Birdieman's old Extreme (says at the beginning that there were two produced...and the other was apparently destroyed). Though, I did here the same thing about the Black's Extreme regarding a fresh coat of paint.

They're definately different cars. I did a car fax on the coupe that was totaled. I was just curious if the rarety of this one would have much effect on the value. Black's sent this one back to Saleen in August of '08 for a new paint job. Saleens records said the paint was faded, no damage.

I wouldnt believe that, the car was in an accident, thats why Saleen painted it, I might have pics of when it came in, you could call Brian Black himself im sure he would give you the story of the wreck, I almost purchased the car but at the time I was trying to purchase a 99 S351, either way I still would have purchased the car accident or not, its a very nice car.

As far as Birdiemans car some one purchaed the car and I heard they were trying to fix it, never heard about it again.

That's interesting. If you have some pictures I'd love to see them. Thanks in advance.

I heard they were selling the car. The price wasn't bad either. Just wasn't looking at buying another car at the moment.

They wanted an ungodly amount on ebay when they were trying to sell it a couple times. I've also heard that the car was in an accident.....but it wasn't advertised on their ebay listing.

Congratulations on a nice looking car! Post some pictures of it!

Was it in a bad wreck.....How does the new coat of paint look? Someone told me it was already starting to fade in some spots.
