According to the Saleen guy I spoke with, there were only 3 Beryllium Extremes made in 2002(2-coupes, 1-convertible). The convertible was a demo car and totaled by Shawn Saleen, Steve Saleen's son. The other coupe was totaled in Minneapolis, MN (Salvage Title/Certificate Issued), according to the Carfax Vehicle History Report. Considering the interesting history and the rarety, I was hoping someone here might have some thoughts as to the "Collectability Value" of this car. Is "Collectability" a word? LOL

Are you buying it from Black's? Its a nice car, has a new coat of paint, they took really good care of it. Car's as an investment is not wise in general imo, but its a really cool car.

im pretty sure that the one that was totalled belonged to a forum member here. if i remember correctly, he took it to the dealership for a service and they totalled it on a test drive. wasn't a pretty situation.

His name was BirdieMan4 I believe, or something close. He was a top fuel racer by trade, and a Saleen collector. His car was totalled by a mechanic after waiting some ungodly amount of time to recieve it.

Thanks for the link Jazzer. I bought this car last November. Original plan was to resale but thinking about holding on to it. Will post some pics soon. The gauges are not working properly. I'm sure the intercooler sending unit needs to be replaced as the gauge works erratically, but the boost pressure gauge is stuck on max, even with the car turned off. Any suggestions?
