ok so i blew up my engine, I THINK my belt slipped and i threw a rod through the oil pan> well i know thers a big hole in the oil pan, i guess thats what happened. ok so i have an 04 saleen supercharged, i am guessing i need a new engine so i was going to save up money and get an engine (4.6 DOHC 3 valve 8:5:1) from thefordsource.com its basically a cobra motor with forged intervals. my question is will my intake manifold with my supercharger fit on this new motor, does my manifold match the cobra manifold that would be on that engine? i know the superchargers are basically the same m112, right? anything else i you guys and gals think i would need would be a help this is the first engine i have to replace, thanks

Your mistaken accross the board there...

That engine is not like a cobra motor if its a 3 valve, and it wont be a DOHC. That would make it like the new 05+ motors and you would need a nightmare of wiring and mods to set that up.

Either way, if its a 4v or a 3v, your manifold will not work. Your supercharger is a Lysholm 1600AX, which is different than the cobra; however it doesn't really matter. What matters is the intake manifold it is bolted to, it just wont work.

Unfortunately you've got an expensive project on your hands now because you will need an entirely new supercharger set up for this motor.

thank you for the reply, i didnt buy the motor yet. but i thought the motors that orginally came with the 03-04 cobra's stock were 3 valve motors and i thought the motor i was talking about getting was the exact motor that would be in the cobra minus the manifold and supercharger? thank you for the input devil. i know i do have a costly repair on my hands, no matter which way i go.
