Default Newbie! Roush 427R 2010 Question

All, I am looking to buy a Mustang 2010 GT and was also considering the Roush 427. I am a bit confused though. It appears that a 427R and GT have very little difference in the quarter mile and 0-60 times? It sounds like I would be paying 15k for very little in performance gains? I know it has a much better suspension and style, but I thought that's what I would get from a stage I or II.

I am not a gear head so any help you guys could provide would be great.

Thanks All!

watch the top gear review on the roush compared to the gt500 u pay more for the cars but the thing i love about saleen/roush they give a damn good suspension to the car for turnings really imo if u care about straight line probly cheaper to get a gt500

Top Gear didn't compare a true GT500 when they did the side by side. The GT 500 they got was pre production, and lacks a lot of what the cars the lots got had to offer.

That being said, I'd take the Roush over the Shelby any day. It's a very well rounded car. And MUCH faster than a stock GT in any kind of power demonstration.

Interesting. Thanks for posting.

I guess those 20" wheels really affect that 1/4 mile. Probably the handling too.

Same thing for the 05+ saleens...

The 0-60 times will be different and the car will handle MUCH better. If your not that concerned about the suspension and just want something really fast you can do the GT500....which still handles pretty well.

Someone educate me... what is a "track pack equipped GT" ?

Personally, I'd look into more than just one review. Those numbers are off from others I've seen. If you wanna see what 2010 R owners are saying, do some reading on Fnsweet.com.

3.73's, GT500 rear swap bar, rear lower trailing links, front upper strut mounts, a front strut tower brace, different dampers and I believe stickier tires. Not positive on all that but pretty sure.
