Thoughts on 2007 Saleen S281sc

My 05 was 33k with 6700 miles on it reliability is fine, ive put about 7000 miles on with no mechanical problems, cosmetically everything has stayed as it should, and yes it is awesome. It gets a lot of attention/looks (especially from the ladies) and defnitely is more of a looker than the GT500 or GT445 I should say I picked it over say a GT500 because its very unique, bang for the buck, and even stock it sounds awesome

I purchased an 2006 S281SC in December of 2009.... I love the car and wouldn't trade it for anything. I bought the car for $29k, with only 8k miles on it, and that was 1 year and 4 months ago so pretty much the same as you buying an 07 now. Believe it or not, I actually bought mine through eBay... I was nervous as could be, but it worked out okay. In the year and 4 months I have owned it, I have put 12k miles on it, which seems like a lot now that I think about it since I owned another car and a motorcycle and the Saleen is not my daily driver, but I love driving it so much when the weather is nice. Search around for a little better deal, or negotiate them down much more. You will not regret the car. I have had a few problems with mine listed below but nothing major...
-Coolant reservoir tank completed dumped all coolant two different times... both times happened after getting oil changes at two different dealerships. Not a fun process, but the fix was simple. Replaced the pressurized cap which I assume that both dealerships stripped while checking/filling coolant tank.
-Current problem with louvers in hood. I just recently realized that 3 of the 4 mounts on each louver are busted so basically they are only being held on by 1 screw each. I spoke with Saleen since the car just recently went out of warranty and was a little disappointed that they seem to just really not care much about it. Trying to decide if I want to spend $120 to replace
-Current problem with rear end? Very seldom I will be cruising down the highway and maintaining a constant speed, then go to give it some gas and it feels like the whole rear end jumps or that my axle as just fallen out... but it is so rare, that I haven't really dug into the issue.
Other than that, the car has been a real blessing and people stop to talk to me everywhere I go. You will no doubt love the car and every second you get to spend behind the wheel of it. Good luck in your searches!

Dude ive seen extremes going for 35k with less miles then that. I would keep looking if i where you. Problem wise it's really nothing too big. My automatic windows kept acting up, and my sway bar was lose but warranty covered that pretty well and i have had no problems since. Engine sounds great too, so i can never get mad at her.
