I had the same thing happen with my 02. I replaced it with the 03 cobra pump. Picked it up on ebay for about $80.

That seems to be the most popular solution, and also the best priced and most available. I assume you ditched the stock threaded saleen hoses and used hose clamps as the stock saleen pump had threaded fittings and the lightning/cobra pump has slip on fittings that are secured with hose clamps, or is there some way to make the stock threaded lines work with the cobra pump setup?? Thanks for the info.

Is the Cobra pump higher flow? I purchased a larger heat exchanger and would like to put a larger pump in but choices are limited (and very costly)

Yep just used good hose clamps. As far as a pump with more flow it's not needed. I did some research and found the cobra pump was good enough. With more flow there is the chance that the fluid will pass through the heat exchanger too quickly and not help at all.
