Default General 2002 Saleen Questions.

I own a 2002 S281 and am new to saleens. I've tried looking up some general things on google and cant seem to find what I'm looking for.

First the H20 gauge on the center of dash: What should it read at normal driving and what happens/causes it fi it gets high.

Second is there any special kind of H20 coolant I can use for SC, since I have a seperate reservoir for it.

Thanks any input would be grateful.

Your H2O gauge should read about 130-160 normally.

A fix would be to get a bigger heat exchanger or get your intercooler welded up so all the air will pass by it instead of going around it.

Saleen just used normal 50/50 green coolant, you can use a 50/50 Ford Gold Premium in it also. Add water wetter or purple ice to chemically cool it.

....or get the Chicane Intercooler which will give you the biggest help in cooling the car (also the most expensive option, though). Unfortunately the company is not longer open so you'll have to search around for used ones.

Ill probably pull the intercooler and clean it. While doing that I'll put a new gasket on between the sc and block.
