budget saleen?
i looking at buying a saleen s281 what is the deal with budget saleen are they the same or diff from the other saleen s281? are they rare ? should i buy or pass it up please help cant find anything about them on the net everyone has something different to say about the topic

They are rare; 30 made in 1996 and 88 in 1997. Only a few were manual transmission.
These cars did get abused pretty good but went back to Saleen after being taken out of service for refurbishing and then resold. The front bumper number should have a B following it.
As with any used car (especially an old rental) get it checked out by a mechanic you trust.

They did make 30 Budget Saleens in 1996, and 1997 they made 88.
In 97, 34 cars were sticks, and 54 automatic.
Three came with white convertible tops, and only one of those three had an automatic transmission, that would be mine.
Most were sent to warm weather states for rental, such as Arizona, California, Texas & Florida.
