New Roush owner
#21
I know this is a day one question, but I'm a little lost with regards to the differences between the stages of roush 'stangs. Is my 2008 stage 3 very different from the stage two or one models? (I know it's a dumb query, but - for once - the internet is kind of lacking in reliable info....)

Not a dumb question at all (I asked the same before I got my Roush). For 2008, from "lowest" to "highest" it basically goes like this (someone correct me if I'm wrong):
Stage 1: No engine mods. Basically appearance only. Front fascia, wheels, seats... things like that:
Stage 2: No engine mods. Appearance (front fascia, wheels, seats), plus suspension kit, shifter, gauge cluster, etc.
Speedster Convertible: No engine mods. Automatic trans, appearance (front fascia, wheels, seats). White with orange graphics. Convertible only.
427R: Roushcharger M90. Appearance (front fascia, wheels, seats), suspension kit, exhaust, shifter, gauge cluster, graphics.
Stage 3: Roushcharger M90. Appearance (front fascia, wheels, side ground effects, rear ground effects, seats), suspension kit, exhaust, shifter, gauge cluster, graphics.
428R: Same as 427R except limited production, grille, chrome supercharger, hood pins.
Blackjack: Same as Stage 3 except limited production, available in black only, grille, special upholstery, chrome supercharger.
427R Trak Pak. 2008 only. Same as 427R except limited production, coil over suspension, gauge package available, and a gigantic APR wing option.
P51A: Limited production. Similar in appearance to 427R except all were Vapor Silver with green stripe on hood and Satin Silver hood scoop and rear spoiler. Forged internals on the engine (rebuilt at Roush), TVS 2300 blower, 510 horsepower, Stage 3 suspension, custom upholstery.
You can see there were a lot of different models in '08!

Roush RS3
This is my second Roush, RS3 with a 675 HP VMP tune, Eibach Sportline springs, 20X10.5 Niche Intake on all four corners, Bridgstone S001's 305/30 on the rears, and R1 cross drilled and slotted discs with R1 ceramic Pads.

The Roush wheels were 9.5 inch wide and same offset, in other words, the wheel went inwards and outwards exactly .5 inches. I have about a quarter inch of space between the wheel and the Roush strut and kept the Cooper 275's, they just stretched a bit. I wouldn't put a wider tire unless you stick the wheel out further. I did shave the The bolt that holds the sway bar to the strut about a quarter inch, I had enough space but just wanted a bit more at that point. All in all, I have no rubbing whatsoever.

Mine is an offset of 45 and it worked, so 41 should work. I do have the Roush strut, don't know if that makes a different. I did have to slightly crush in gently the dust cap on the bearing, it would push the center emblem of the wheel out, that was so easy since it is soft metal. My tire in the front is a 275/35 and I would not go wider.
