hey guys really new here..i test drove this thing and it was really slow, there supposed to be really fast right?..the boost guage and temp gauge, on the dash didnt work...its a red coupe with 33,000 miles and they want 28,000 what do u suggest is a good price? it seems fine but how do i tell if its a real clone...i mean it is really slow should i be able to hear the whine like an 03 cobra?? thanks alot by the way heres the vin if anyone can help me 1FAFP42X12F170932..on the cheapo carfax report it says its a gt coupe but i cant go into detail, is that what everyones says...when u put it in or should it say saleen? thanks alot and need feedback quick because i am going back tomm night...thanks again every1!!!

From the Vin # number you gave, Its not a Real Extreme. I didnt check to see if it was a real saleen, but in the registry there is not extreme with that vin #. If it was real, than it would be a good buy. Are you in the market for an E car?

btw it doesnt have the hood like ive seen with one big opening it has like 2 reverse vents

In 2002, There were only 50 E cars built. They come loaded up with every option saleen has. It has a hand built by saleen all forged motor with saleen spec alum heads and cam. Another big kicker is that they have a 2.3l whipple twin screw blower, 13"Saleen brakes, 6spd Saleen t56, Recaro leather, Max grip diff, etc. New price on these were around 65-72k. A regular Saleen SC is a stock Gt motor with a blower. The HP for an E is 425 (moddest) and Saleen says they built these motors to handle 650+. So yes its a big difference and they are comparable to a MODDED 03/04 Cobra.

I did check but havent found it yet, There were around 750 regular saleens in that year.

You can call Saleen in the morning and give them the vin # and they will tell you if it is authentic.
