I think Magnaflow is the ones with the long pipes to go with the mufflers. I have read at other sites it's necessary to jack the car up to get those long pipes on but nothing about cutting anything.

The sensors are battery operated and you cannot replace just the battery. The batteries typically last about 5 years. When one goes it's an indication that they are all about to go.
