Maybe it was an old design. The only had a single ply nylon sidewall. The grip was awesome but under hard cornering the sidewall would flex.

I now run falken tires which has a 2 ply polyester...

he shouldn't need an alignment from doing ball joints. the only time you need an alignment done is if you mess with the tie rods, or alter the ride height.

I ran a set of coopers perf tires on my sixxer and did not like them at all. the side wall so soft and flimsy the car felt like it was going to spin out all the time.

But he had to install the pin after everything was installed since he is now trying to remove the axle. The gears aren't the problem, he just doesn't have the pin aligned properly to remove it.

Try rotating the assembly. The pin should come out with grinding anything.

If I remember correctly it will not drop out the bottom it has to come out towards you angled upwards.
