Bingo, the 99-04 rear is wider than the 94-98 rear. Wheels will sink in a bit but it will fit. You can compensate this issue with spacers. And as stated you will need to use ABS axles.

That's not bad. A 4.2 stroker will get you faster than a 3.8 but there's a reason there is a v8 in the GT.
