Just keep those lanyards clean. Get little road grit on them, and they'll scratch. Silicone, teflon, etc or not. Been there ;)

I spent a good amount to time adjusting them, so that they lock with the center button up every time the hood closes. I do visually check the buttons to be 100% sure though.

It's between 1/8" and 3/16" at that point, and I added another 1/8" ring extending 4" across around the latch hole. If any bowing occurs, I shall be VERY disappointed ;)

Not too likely Pascal. The hood is pretty thick fibreglass, but I know what you mean on the stock aluminum hoods.

I did add some reinforcing rings to the underside though, but more to spread any...

I actually bought a set of Aerocatchs, looked them over and ended up selling them on eBay. Construction on them was ok, but the visible portion on the hood looked too "import tuner-ish" for an S197...

Quik-Latch Hood pins
