The tranny slips, from a stop to start. no matter how much throttle, does that sound like the torque converter failing?

If i were you I would get a smog pump eliminator, if not and you use a short belt. ur going to put too much strain on your tensioner and it will break. then no motor.

look for a temperature switch, on autozone.com it...

look for a temperature switch, on autozone.com it will show you where it is. its right side of distributor, mounted in intake, right next to coolant temp sensor. by the fuel rail.

I drove my 86 5.0 the other day and heard a slight knocking sound. I get home, shut the car off, tried to restart and the starter spins, but no distributor movement. so i thought it could be a rod....

there is a small rubber hose by the lid that...

there is a small rubber hose by the lid that leads to the overflow tank. but I dont have a overflow tank. so the pressure and coolant flows out when hot.

I just put in a heavy duty aluminum radiator, water pump and 180 thermostat. No leaks. I drove the car for about 25 min, and came back to the house, when the radiator was overflowing from the insert...
