Probably one of the idiotic CARB certifications that commiefornia requires. You might try K&N, or you might have to get a stock intake or another CAI that has the sticker.

I'm not the one that installed the plugs, but when I pulled them, the gap looked a hell of a lot smaller than .054.

Found the source of it running rich, the insulation crumbled on the ECT wires...

Fuel pressure is 33 at idle and 43 with the vacuum line off. No signs of the regulator leaking. I will bend the clips, see if it helps. No exhaust leaks. Haven't done the KOER test or cylinder...

Why did you have to change the intake? Best guess is that you have a vacuum leak that's leaning you out and causing detonation.

Is it a single thump, or a rhythmic thump? Single thump and I would say to check the control arm bushings. Otherwise it could be a wheel bearing, or even a bent axle.
