The engine thermostat does open after it hits about 220 on the temp gauge. I've used 2 new thermostats now with the same result. I'm on my second temp sensor as well.

When i removed the carb style intake i drained the oil, i didnt notice it then. The radiator that came with it was a fms aluminum 3 core, which was pretty nasty inside(rusty sludge) I didnt use that...
