Mechanical stress goes up exponentially in higher revving engines. The point I was trying to make was that 300hp at 5-6k rpm isn't going to wear a v6 engine at all.

You don't necessarily need a tuner when upgrading exhaust. A tuner will make sure your car has the desired fuel air ratio after you upgrade; so that means any upgrade you make in terms of intake...
