if it only does it when its cold it could be a ECT (engine coolant Temp sensor) when the car is in open loop is does not use the O2 sensors for feed back it uses engine temp. Let me know what you find

i haven't done the swap yet but i plan on doing the gt40 head swap along with the upper/lower intake swap from an Explorer 5.0, but from what i can tell its a bolt on and new gaskets is a good idea...
