I have used JB quick to fill this corrosion...

I have used JB quick to fill this corrosion pitting on my Vortec 350. Let it set up and once it starts to firm up a sharp razor blade trim it flush. After it has 24 hours or so to set up 400 grit...

I know you believe it isn't the caliper but I wouldn't rule it out. I would check the slide pins and make sure they aren't corroded and lubricated properly.

I learned that when I had my 94 Super Coupe. Those plugs absolutely suck to change. So now it is usually NGK or Autolite

Sounds like the BOO switch is messing up. The switch is activated by the brake pedal when it is depressed. My bet it is the actuator is sticking or not getting power correctly from the brake light...

Drivers side of the block is a plug. You can put it there and it will give you a reading albeit a tad warmer as 7-8 don't have the flow of coolant like 3-4 do.
