Unless you plan to push more than 600 crank HP, you can reuse the stock crank and get forged rods and pistons. That will save you quite a bit if that's an option on the kit you are buying.

The cam chains are not affected by the horsepower of the engine. The only factors that affect them are valve lift and RPM.

Got all the rods and pistons assembled and...

Got all the rods and pistons assembled and installed the rings on the pistons today. Got the oil pan all cleaned up on the inside and scuffed, ready for paint, on the outside.
