No kidding. Thanks for the info. My gas gauge isn't working yet, so I'll have to pay better attention to how much is in the tank until I get to that project!

Thanks guys. I'm going to do front and rear. What exactly is the tool from autozone? How difficult of a job is this? Out of all the things I've fixed on cars I've never had to do this.

I had something like this happen to me, but it turned out to be an issue with the choke/throttle linkage. Wasn't letting the throttle return to the idle position. Rebuilt linkage and was fine.

That won't work. The hose is metal and mounted to a bracket that bolts to the maniford. Was trying to save a few bucks and not have to order new. Oh well.

Thanks. It looks like there is a nut on the choke tube connection, mine doesn't have that. On mine the nut is on the end of the choke tube and the choke housing is just the thread for the nut.

Where can I buy an auto choke housing?

For a 66' 289 2v Autolite 2100. The thread on my housing is worn out, so I cannot screw the choke tube into it. Seems like a hard part to find, unless I buy an entire carburetor.
