Go on ebay and buy the tint that is pre-cut for your windows. That's the only way I will do my own tinting. The last stuff I bought even came with a how-to dvd.

It looks like the flange is mushroomed over a little bit in that spot. Just take a file or grinder and lightly bevel the edge so that the drum will sit flat.
