a lot of it depends on the cam, so posting the specs for that would help, but unless you're getting a pretty radical camshaft, I wouldn't put anything over 2k in a daily driver.

I would either try using 7/16" bolts or getting 3/8" sized thermactor plugs. You shouldn't have a problem finding the bolts at a place like lowes or a good ace hardware or something.

that's why you don't buy them new. You can get one that's 2-3 years old for around 23k easily. Their value drops immensely the first couple of years and after that they seem to hold their value...

I think it mostly has to do with the modular motors. They do sound pretty sweet, but the older non-modular motors sound totally different.

I haven't been real impressed with chrystler/dodge as far as making long-lasting vehicles for the last 10 years or so. I don't think I've seen any other brand of car have so many significant problems...

the evo mr doesn't have a traditional automatic. It has an automated 6 speed trans with a twin disc clutch. They also have VERY tight gearing.

it's pretty hard to mess up a launch on an evo. I think it's more of a question on if he wants to launch it or not. It's hard on the drivetrain and transmission service is very expensive on those...
