Anything you add to coolant or oil system straight through the places to add more that "plug" leaks are the worst thing for a car, they should only be used on a car that's not gonna last much longer...

Yes its possible for a cable to stretch, the clutch peddle auto tensioner assembly in the peddle assembly has been known to have issues as well.

I just entered v6 coupe, pulled up a front strut, then re did it for GT and the part number was the same, I'm assuming he's buying new, not much sense in replacing used with used.
