Could just be a bad sending unit, that's the first thing i would look at assuming you have checked the oil level and you haven't heard any engine noise

the last time i checked the timing cover is aluminum hard to get sparks from aluminum? check the pulley bushing may be frozen and rubbing against the mounting bolt JMAO

Wow great pictures, so the cam retainer or whats left of it clogged the oil passages causing the bearing failure. Good luck with the rebuild.

I did replace all eight, i was going to pull the mains but decided not to based on i plan on pulling the motor and trans in the fall and do a complete rebuild. i just want to drive it for the summer...

Anybody ever change rod bearing with the engine in the car

Looks like i may have hammered her a little bit to hard, got a ticking in number six cylinder, goes away if i pull the plug wire, starts ticking around 2K RPM and higher. I thinking its a rod bearing...
