your post makes no sense . . if you mount a carb sideways on an intake with a divided plenum it probably wont even run because only 4 cylinders are getting fuel.

if your car ran hot before and still runs hot it is possibly because of the radiator because the chinese rads hold at least 25% less water than a us made one.

you would have to have your motor rewound for higher speeds unless one of your resistor filaments is bad.

if you have 3 distinct speeds on it, your resistor is good.
