timed vacuum or manifold vacuum

ok heres the question. do i use timed vacuum for the distributor or manifold vacuum. i heard or read both what do i do and what makes a difference.

thanks guys, the fuel line is clear new filter. I have a stock autolite distributor with points, new gapped at 18, the plugs are basically new and they are gapped at 34. the car did run for a while...

yeah mp6 its the front i notice it the most going slow. it doesnt matter turning or not it pops. when i jack up the front end it makes a poping sound also, i guess i'll get under there this weekend...

what degree timing set on 68 302 engine

Ok guys manual says 6 BTC my car seems to run better at 10 to 12. Is that ok or or do I have to set at 6. Also what RPM should I be running at idle. I have a mild cam and 625 rpms doesn't seem right

well this "wood" spacer doesnt look like wood, and i guess its probably as odd as putting phenolic on an engine! I'm just hoping that it holds up and doesnt deteriorate. lol

ok previous post found out hole on manifold is for choke tube. I have an electric choke so do i need it and if not can i seal it up, and if so with what??? oh I have a new edelbrock carb not original...
